A form of role-playing game in which participants describe their character's actions through language. Participants decide their character's actions based on their character descriptions, and the success or failure of their actions is based on a formal system of rules and guidelines. Within the rules, participants are free to improvise, and their choices determine the direction and outcome of the game. Known in Japanese as table talk RPGs.
