Sverigedräkten is the dress worn for celebrations by the kvinnliga nationaldräktsföreningen (Women's national dress association). The costume was created in the early 1900s to be a dress wearable for any women in Sweden-Norway union, regardless of specific geographical origin. Older traditional Swedish clothes differ from region within Sweden and indicate where in the nation you come from.
Today Sverigedräkten is treated as an official inofficial national dress of Sweden. Swedish royals are often seen wearing it.
The dress is in yellow and blue, resembling the colors of the Swedish flag. It typically includes a white blouse worn under the dress. The dress itself is typically blue with a yellow waist apron and some sort of chamomile flower decoration.
There exists also a less commonly worn men's version of the dress.
