A Soviet self-propelled howitzer of World War II. The SU-122 was inspired by the German Sturmgeschütz III assault gun, which is the chassis of a Panzer III tank with a heavy gun in a turretless hull, principally intended to attack bunkers and other fixed positions. The SU-122 is a similar concept executed on the chassis of a T-34. As its name suggests, it carries a 122mm howitzer.
