A festival held in several Indochinese countries, typically between 13 - 15 April. Though the most notable and popular being the one held in Thailand. Also known as "water festival".
Originally, the festival coincides with the traditional new year of the region (14 April) and mostly involves modest water sprinkling as a form of blessing. In modern times, however, it has transformed into a water festival where partipants shower each other with water, often with a water gun.
