A skyrocket is a type of fireworks that uses a solid-fuel rocket to rise quickly into the sky and upon reaching it's apex sets off a last effect, such as exploding into stars, crackles, or bangs. They use a variety of means to stabilize their flight, with one common one being a long stick affixed alongside the rocket motor. The smallest of these types of rockets are referred to as a bottle rocket, as one way of launching them is to secure them in place by resting their stick in the opening of a bottle.
