Ruby Rose is the protagonist of RWBY, a 3DCG series produced by Rooster Teeth.

Ruby is the "R" in RWBY, and is associated with the color red. Her character design is inspired by Little Red Riding Hood. Yang Xiao Long is her half-sister. She likes cookies, drinks milk, and has a cheerful disposition.

Abilities

She wields a large scythe/gun hybrid weapon named Crescent Rose, a "High-Caliber Sniper-Scythe" (HCSS). Her symbol is a rose, and red rose petals appear when she uses her speed semblance (special ability).

When in the presence of grimm, her eyes are able to glow brightly with a silvery light. When this ability is used, any grimm in front of this light will be turned to dust or petrified, depending on how large the grimm is; very strong ones may be able to partially resist the effect.

Physical characteristics

Ruby has grey eyes and short two-toned gradient red hair/black hair, or black with red streaks.

In earlier volumes of the series, she stood 5'2" tall (including boots). As of Volume 7, she is 5'4" tall.

Attire

She is usually seen in a red cape or hooded cloak secured with cross-shaped pins. Her default outfit includes a long sleeved black dress (with red frills) tied with a corset, black pantyhose, and black knee boots with red laces. Her belt is a bandolier with large bullet cartridges. Most of her oufits include a rose-shaped badge somewhere on them.
