A dwarf planet in the solar system that was discovered February 18, 1930. It was originally classified as a planet since 1930. In 2006 the International Astronomical Union (IAU) defined what they considered to be a planet, which exempted celestial bodies such as Pluto, and reclassified them as "dwarf planets" (which despite the naming are not considered planets). The IAU's definition of a planet was met with mixed responses, with those in favor of it and those who oppose it.
For tagging purposes, large planet or planet-like objects are to be tagged planet for simplicity's sake.
