Also known as the Benz Patent Motorwagen, the Patent Motorwagen was an early motor vehicle invented by Carl Benz in 1885 and patented in 1886. It was the first commercially available motor vehicle, produced and sold from 1888 to 1893, before being replaced by the Benz Velo.
The Patent Motorwagen could seat 2 adult passengers and featured a three-wheeled design without an overhead covering.
