Okinami is something of a dojikko, albeit not as much as Inazuma or Samidare. While eager, she is self-deprecating (going so far as to apologize if she gains MVP), and constantly worries about her glasses to an absurd degree, even above her own health.

History
The real-life Okinami was completed December 10th, 1943. Her most significant achievement is rescuing survivors from Suzuya, and towing Kumano to safety during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. In an air raid on Manila Bay, Okinami was struck and partially sunk in the shallow waters on November 13th, 1944. Along with Akishimo, Hatsuharu, Akebono, Satsuki, Kiso, and Nachi, which sank very close nearby, the IJN never refloated her, and she was eventually scrapped after the war.
