A rose that is drawn as if looking at it from above, with all its petals closely bound to one another, their edges overlapping.
The design was created by Scottish architect and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Because it closely follows art nouveau themes, the Mackintosh Rose differs from the stenciled rose in many ways. The flower is often closer to budding than being in full bloom, which causes the overall shape of the flower to be more circular. Additionally, the wedges representing the petals are more tightly wrapped and have a more similar crescent-like shape.
