Edit
The M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is a armored tracked self-propelled multiple rocket launcher developed for the U.S. Army. It can carry two ammunition pods that each consist of either the 6-rocket Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) or the 1-missile Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), and are interchangeable with the M142 HIMARS which carries one ammunition pod. The GMLRS has a range up to 57.2 miles (92 km) while the ATACMS has a range up to 190 miles (300 km).
As of 2019 the US has been upgrading their existing M270's to the M270A2. This variant features the new Common Fire Control System (CFCS) and will enable the M270 to be able to use the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), a replacement for the ATACMS that has a range of over 310 miles (500 km).
