Lit. "stray metal", also known as liquid metal slime.
A variant of the metal slime from the Dragon Quest series of RPGs, and a staple of the series. Like Metal Slimes and Metal King Slimes, Liquid Metal Slimes are a traditional level grinding target, allowing characters to gain mass levels -- if they can kill them. Almost every game has had a spot where fighting metal slimes, including liquid metal slimes, is easy to do.
Liquid Metal Slimes are higher level than Metal Slimes, offering 40,000 (or just over 10,000 per character), approximately 10 times the experience of Metal Slimes. Like metal slimes, they are completely immune to magic, take only 0-2 damage a hit from normal attacks, and run away very frequently. They are otherwise unremarkable in combat.
A frequent subject of Anthropomorphizing, "Liquid Metal-Chan" (Hagure-chan) is depicted as a very athletic and lithe exhibitionist with mirror-like chrome skin, streaking around wearing nothing but a pair of sneakers and a smile. This is a reference to the shoes Liquid Metal Slimes drop in Dragon Quest 3 and Dragon Quest 9, which give experience just for being worn.
Previously translated in English as "Metal Babble" or "Metabble" depending on the game.
