The Kliment Voroshilov Model Two (KV-2) tank was an early World War II Soviet heavy tank that shared the same chassis with the earlier KV-1 with the exception of a large turret housing the very powerful M10 howitzer.
It saw limited action in the early stages of the war, one notable event being a lone KV-2 that pinned the lead elements of the German advance for a day.
This heavy tank was feared among the Germans for its very powerful armament combined with a very thick and resistant armor. It was known to be able to destroy even the heavier German tanks with a single salvo from its cannon, and could also withstand several shots from the enemies most powerful guns.
Its main flaws were low mobility and a very high profile due to its unusually tall and heavy turret, designed to house the howitzer. As well as slow reload time.
Due to its unique characteristics, the KV-2 has gained popularity among the tank enthusiastists, especially after its inclusion in various video games, such as World of Tanks and War Thunder.
