A type of Japanese clothing.
A notable feature are the sleeves: they are not sewn to the body of the clothing, giving a distinct open slit on the shoulders.
Originally designed as hunting clothes, they were comfortable enough that they became common informal clothing for the nobility during the Heian period and onwards.
