Each of her forms has her wear some variant of a blue cropped jacket over a long, sleevelesswhite dress with a as well as thighhighs. Her gear usually consists of a ship's stern strapped to her back. Listed below are the particularities of her clothing and gear.
Base (Fleet Oiler)
Her jacket is wide-sleeved and her headband has a pattern. She wears bandages and wrist guards on top. Her thighhighs consists of black bandages, of which she wears augmented fur boots on top. On her right hand is a set of light artillery. She carries a load-bearing straw bag containing a crate on her left side. Upon being damaged, the crate is destroyed, revealing vegetables (namely potatoes, carrots and an onion) that she tries to preserve.
Kai (Seaplane Tender)
Her jacket is tight-sleeved from then on and features a collar. She now wears thigh boots with rudder heels. She loses the bandages and wrist guards and her gear on her right arm is replaced by a significantly larger rig based on her the superstructure on her bow. This same gear features a Hein mat draping up front. Her gear on the back has also been modified for seaplane tender duties.
Kai Bo ("Fleet Oiler"/Flying Boat Tender)
Her headband loses its pattern. The dress has been modified into a white top and blue skirt. The kana "モ" is imprinted on her headband and gear. The gear on her arm has been slightly modified and features a dual-purpose gun. The gear on her back has also been modified for hew new duties, carrying another crate on her back. This crate shatters upon being damaged with pieces flying all over the place.
Rainy Season 2017
She is carrying a blue oil-paper umbrella with an hydrangea motif with her right hand. Aside from that, she has blue hydrangeason her hair and a tiny frog on her equipment. On the crate for base form and on left arm rigging for the other forms. This frog migrates to the carrot on her base form and to her headband on her other forms upon being damaged.
Yukata 2017
She wears a blue yukata with vertical stripes and a floral motif to the sleeves and brim along with a white obi, a headband of the same blue as her outfit and a blue flower hair decoration. She is holding a grilled corn cob in anticipation to eating it. When damaged, more produce is laying on the floor and you can clearly see her choice of bra. Her forms are solely differenciated by the gear on her back.
Christmas 2017
She wears what amounts to a bluesanta costume, with detached sleeves, thigh boots, a mustache glued to her signature headband, a large sack with a star motif and a doll of herself holding a tiny cake. Upon being damaged, we can see that the buttocks area of her outfit has sewn-on bear heads while she tries to protect her sack (not spilling any of it's contents). Also, the doll seems to spring into life...
History
The Kamoi was actually one of a few Japanese ships in-game to be built abroad (currently, the only other is Kongou). In her case, at New York Shipbuilding Corporation, at the same time as Saratoga, before her conversion (for this reason, she is the key for building Saratoga with LSC). However, she shows very little traces of her birthland and instead acts as the token Ainu of the fleet. As a result, she is subject to crossovers with franchises heavily featuring the Ainu like Golden Kamuy or with related near-namesakes (Kanna Kamui is an example).
She also happened to be one of the ships assigned to the rescue operation involving Amelia Earhart in 1937 (she was then a seaplane tender). The order to search was cancelled due to a lack of information.

She is illustrated by Akira and voiced by Seto Asami [瀬戸 麻沙美].
The Kamoi was named after Cape Kamui, itself named after the Ainu word referring to a divine spirit or a deity.
Her design is heavily influenced by the Ainu, featuring distinctive patterning as well as a few clothing items and objects. As her clothes show a decent amount of skin on the sides, her modest bust is often exaggerated to far larger, resulting in getting her own tag for art focusing on her breasts ("Kamoi poro tokap". Translated from ainu, "poro tokap" means "big breasts".)
She is the only ship in the game to change ship class three times as well as the only ship who irreversibly (but nominally) return to their original ship class. As Kai Bo, she is the only other ship other than Akitsushima to field Flying Boats.
