The Japanese aircraft carrier Kaga portrayed as a battleship instead.
Kaga was originally planned and constructed as a Tosa-class battleship, before that class of ships was rendered superfluous (while still under construction) by the 1922 Washington Naval Treaty. Tosa, the lead ship of the class, was expended as an armor test target, but Kaga was spared that fate by the destruction of the battlecruiser-turned-carrier Amagi in the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake, which led to her hull being converted into a carrier instead.
