Honorary General James Harold Doolittle was an American military general and aviation pioneer.
Best known for the eponymous Doolittle Raid, a daring bombing raid on Tokyo on 18 April 1942 during World War II. Whilst the raid caused minimal damage, it greatly affected the Japanese military to take more cautious stance against enemy air raids, which were often cited as a contributing factor in the American victory at the Battle of Midway. After the raid, he would serve as a bomber group commander over both theatres of the war.
In shipgirl context, he is usually paired with a personification of USS Hornet, the ship that his B-25 Mitchell bombers took off from during the raid.
