The Adidas Jabulani is the official match ball for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Jabulani means "rejoice"/"bring joy and happiness"/"to celebrate" in Zulu.
The 11 colors pay tribute to both soccer/football and the country in which Africa’s first-ever FIFA World Cup was held, with yellow, red, and black being the stand out colors. The grip’n’groove texture were supposed to allows for maximum control, stable flight, and perfect grip under all conditions.
However, the Jabulani gained negative reception from many footballers. As the ball is designed to be "the roundest football ever made," it is too slippery to be held by goalkeepers, as well as too hard to control by players.
