Character design by Xiao Chichi, voiced by Fairouz Ai.
Appearance
See post #3846901
Intrepid has grey eyes and grey hair tied into a two side up. She wears a uniform of similar design to Essex, though hers features a low cut strapless black dress short with red and white accents and "USS" written vertically. She has a blue cloak with a closed high collar. Additionally, she wears black thighhighs and black gloves.
Her rigging consists of two full flight decks, which split amidships to form four separate flight decks.
History
Known as the Fighting I, the real-life Intrepid first saw action in Operation Hailstone: the air raid on the IJN base of Truk in February 1944. She was damaged by a torpedo strike in the operation, which led her to miss the battle of the Philippine Sea in June.
She later returned to service in time for the battle of Leyte Gulf, where her aviators joined in sinking the battleship Musashi. Just a few days later, a kamikaze hit forced her to undertake repairs on the West Coast, returning in time for Okinawa.
Post-war, she was converted to an attack carrier and an anti-sub carrier before leaving service in 1974. She was saved from the breakers and converted to a museum ship in New York City in 1982.
