Ancient Greek heavy infantry. Famously fought in phalanx formation with a dory (spear) and an aspis (shield), with a xiphos as a backup weapon. Their armor could be a linothorax, a cuirass, or nude, depending on period, individual wealth, and artistic depiction.
Not to be confused with the Phalanx from Sekaiju no Meikyuu 3, which is known as the Hoplite in English (Etrian Odyssey).
