The 50th state of the United States. Comprised the namesake chain of islands in the middle of the Pacific ocean.
Originally a Polynesian kingdom, it enjoyed some recognition by the west before it was annexed by the US in 1898 following a government-backed coup in 1893. It was later incorporated as the 50th state in 1959.
Best known as a tropical refuge and a diverse demographics, from native Hawaiian to American settlers and a substantial amount of population of Japanese descent.
