A humanoid race found in a number of fantasy settings, most notably Dungeons & Dragons. They're physically similar to humans, except about half as tall and not as stocky as the similarly sized dwarves. They tend to be portrayed as stealthy and lucky.
Their general description and traits are typically derived from the hobbit race found in Tolkien's Legendarium.
