Haku Sanshi (白汕子), most commonly known as simply Sanshi, is Taiki's nyokai. She has the torso of a woman, the eyes of a fish, limbs of a leopard, and a tail of a lizard; she is considered well-mixed as a nyokai because she has many different beastly features. She was in care of Taiki and educated him in his role as the kirin of Tai. Her first appearance was in the second novel from "The Twelve Kingdoms" series "Sea of the Wind, Shore of the Labyrinth" (風の海 迷宮の岸). In the anime adaptation she was voiced by Masako Katsuki.
