A tool used for cutting hair. A hair clipper generally comes with comb attachments for adjustable hair length and is not designed to shave as closely as a razor can.
The blades are arranged like "teeth" and cut by acting as many mini scissors. Devices with smaller finer blades are typically marketed as "hair trimmers," while those with larger blades are marketed as "hair clippers." The largest types are used on animals and are frequently referred to as "electric shears" or "mechanical shears."
