An updated version of a leftover Zeonmobile suit project, the MS-17 Galbaldy Alpha, which was in turn a redesign of the Gyan to account for the Gelgoog's mid range characteristics and equipped with a beam rifle.
The Galbaldys left behind were captured by the Earth Federation, and gradually upgraded with the newer technologies such as the panoramic monitor and new thrusters. It was somewhat superior to the Gelgoog - but in the growing tensions leading up to the Gryps Conflict, the Gelgoog wasn't even close to the standard anymore.
