Refers to the Mitsubishi G3M Type 96 Attack Aircraft (Allied Nell) and the derivative Yokosuka L3Y Type 96 Transport (Allied Tina).
Originally designed as a land-based long-range bomber for the Imperial Japanese Navy, mainly to fulfill Yamamoto Isoroku's request for long-range, high-speed bombers that can carry torpedoes. This, unfortunately, came at the cost of defensive armor and self-sealing fuel tanks, making them extremely vulnerable to being shot down with even simple small-arms fire.
The Yokosuka Naval Arsenal produced a transport variant named the L3Y.
