frutigeraero フルティガーエアロ frutiger
Frutiger Aero is a visual aesthetic primarily utilized in the 2000s to early 2010s for commerical purposes, focusing on the mix of nature with technology, as well as an overall "glossy" look.
The name, coined by the Consumer Aesthetics Research Institute, originates from the "Aero" style from Windows 7, and the Frutiger font.
Color palettes tend to consist of whites, blues and greens, and the occasional orange. Glossy textures are very common, as are semi-transparent elements. Lens flares and bokeh are also frequently seen, along with "swirly" freeform shapes.
Common thematic elements include colorful tropical fish and other marine life (often jumping out of a body of shimmering blue water), glass, bright green grass, bubbles, the aurora phenomenon, blue skies, technology of the time period (i.e. flip phones, 2000s computers, digital media players), and contemporary and retrofuturistic architecture.
