JP: ガマグチヨタカ科 gamaguchiyotakaka (squirrel hawk / tawny frogmouth)
A group of nocturnal birds in the Podargidae family, related to the nightjars. They are named for their large flattened hooked bill and huge frog-like gape, which they use to capture insects. There are about 14 species.
In 2019, Australian readers of The Guardian online voted the tawny frogmouth as the second most popular bird in the Australian Bird of the Year poll.
