A series of car racing games published by Microsoft for the Xbox family of consoles, and later for PC.
The series is considered a "simcade", encouraging realistic driving styles but with enough leniency to be accessible to beginners and casual players. Forza is particularly notable for being one of the first racing franchises to feature an in-depth decal and livery customizer, making intricate custom racecar and itasha designs prevalent in the series.
The franchise is split into two sub-series - Motorsport and Horizon. The Motorsport games feature closed-track racing on a mix of real and original racetracks with cars varying from everyday road cars to Le Mans prototypes and formula racers. The Horizon games are open-world games set at music/motorsports festivals in scenic locations throughout the world, primarily featuring production cars.
