The FNC (Fabrique Nationale Carabine) is a Belgian 5.56×45mm NATO assault rifle, developed in 1976 by FN Herstal. It is derived from the unsuccessful CAL, which was a scaled-down version of the FAL. The weapon features a side-folding stock and a tubular reciprocating charging handle.
