The EMP (Erma Maschinenpistole) was a series of submachine guns manufactured by German company Erma Werke. Early models such as the Erma EMP 34/35 and Vollmer VMP visually featured a traditional rifle-styled wooden stock, tubular barrel shroud and left-mounted magazine housing located next to the vertical foregrip. While the EMP36 was the predecessor of the famous MP40.
