Energia (Энергия, GRAU 11K25) was a super-heavy lift launch vehicle designed by NPO Energia in the 1980s under the Soviet Buran program. The vehicle consists of a large core stage powered by 4 RD-0120 engines and 4 liquid-fueled boosters each powered by a four-chamber RD-170 engine. Although the Energia itself only flew twice, the RD-180 engine derived from the RD-170 has flown successfully on over 100 launches of the American Atlas V launch vehicle.
