A military Airborne Early Warning and Control plane. The twin-turboprop Hawkeye serves the U.S Navy in the same role as the larger Boeing E-3 in the Airborne Warning and Control System, equipped with a 24-foot dorsal rotodome and communications equipment that enables it to surveil large areas and control aircraft within its assigned airspace.
This aircraft is however, also used to defend carrier battle groups from enemy threats and thus it's endurance is better than that of the E-3.
