A three-winged World War Iairplane patterned after the Sopwith Triplane. Used by the Germans, the Dreidecker was slow and prone to wing failure, but had impressive maneuverability. Probably the best-known Dr.I is the scarlet-painted machine of Manfred von Richthofen, who flew the type while attaining his last 19 victories. The Dr.I was armed with 2 7.92mm machine guns.
