Doraemon is a Japanese manga series from 1969 written and illustrated by Fujiko F. Fujio, which later became an anime series and later the most successful anime franchise of all time, spawned over 40 movies and a broad range of merchandises.
The series is about a robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a pre-teen boy Nobi Nobita and alter his family's doomed life in the future.
