The Daewoo Precision Industries K1/K1A is a South Korean assault rifle. It entered military service in 1981. Early models were chambered for .223 Remington, while post-2014 models use the 5.56×45mm NATO. It was designed in 1972, intended to replace the M3 submachine gun and M16A1. Notable feature of the weapon is its MP5-style retractable stock.
