Concord was an online, sci-fi Hero Shooter developed by Firewalk Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Despite being in eight years of development and costing over a 100 million US Dollars, when the game was released on August 23, 2024 on PS5 and PC, the game was a collosal failure where only 25,000 copies were sold worldwide and it received mixed to negative reviews.
The game's failure was attributed to many reasons; Sony not advertising the game before it's release date, Concord failed to impress gamers as it was another Hero Shooter like Overwatch and Valorant, the game costing $40 US Dollars despite other popular Hero Shooters were Free-to-Play and the game's character design were criticized for being boring looking or ugly.
As a result of the game's failure, the game was shutdown on September 6, 2024, with gamers who bought the game getting refunds.
