Playable character in Overwatch 2, first introduced in Overwatch 1. Cassidy is a sci-fi cowboy from the wild west. He was originally a gang member, but was imprisoned by Overwatch and later recruited into their covert ops wing Blackwatch under the tutelage of Gabriel Reyes.
Formerly named "Jesse McCree" after one of the former developers who was involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit at Blizzard Entertainment. As of October 22, 2021, his new official name is now Cole Cassidy (displayed as "Cassidy" in-game).
