The Bren is a series of light machine guns made by Britain in the 1930s. Widely used by British and Commonwealth forces during the World War II. Its distinct features are the top-loading magazine, carry handle and telescoping bipod. The design was heavily based on the ZB-26, hence the name Bren was derived from Brno, a Czechoslovak city.
Many post-WWII Bren LMGs were re-chambered for 7.62×51mm NATO round and in order to accept L1 magazines.
