A twin-engine narrow-body airliner manufactured by American aerospace manufacturer Boeing, designed as a competitor to the Airbus A320neo.
The latest development of the 737 family, it features more fuel efficient engines with noise-reducing chevrons, redesigned winglets, as well as the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS).
It has also had a troubled history involving two crashes in 2018 and 2019 caused by sudden activation of the MCAS which killed 346 people, and an incident in early 2024 where a door plug on the side of the plane blew off mid flight.
