A large long-range bomber operated by the United States Air Force since 1955. It is powered by eight Pratt & Whitney TF33 turbofans, slung in pods under the shoulder-mounted swept wing. An iconic aircraft of the Cold War, the B-52 can carry a wide variety of bombs, missiles, and other munitions.
