Michael (מִיכָאֵל Mikha'el, "Who is like God?") the Archangel, the first of the angels in the Christian faith. He's the first who led the war against devils and the one who has condemned Satan to reside in Hell after rebelling against the Christian God Yahweh.
Veneration towards Michael is mostly for safety and protection, as he is also considered a 'guardian angel', one who'd protect faithfuls in their everyday lives.
