Edit
A Japanese survival horror game with RPG and puzzle elements, developed by noprops in 2008. The title is named after a folklore creature, the blue oni.
Received an English translation by the early 2010s, and was adapted in various ways in the 2010s, including a novel and manga series written by Kuroda Kenji and illustrated by Suzuragi Karin, a live action movie, and an anime by Studio DEEN.
Received two mobile-exclusive sequels in the late 2010s, Ao Oni 2 in 2016 and Ao Oni 3 in 2017 (which remains untranslated in English), as well as a mobile MMO called Ao Oni Online in 2018, all developed by GOODROID and published by UUUM through LiTMUS (who own the license for the Ao Oni property).
