Kantai Collection's personification of the Japanese destroyer Amagiri. Character design by Drew, voiced by Suzuki Minori.
She is portrayed with very long grey hair tied in a ponytail, grey eyes, and glasses. Her default outfit is a variant of the Special-Type uniform unique to her and Sagiri: a white shirt with light blue sailor collar, purple neckerchief, black bodysuit, grey pleated skirt, black socks, and grey rudder footwear. In her remodel art, she notably has well-defined abs.
Her rigging is shared with the rest of the Special-Types: her funnel and foremast to her back, a 12.7 twin handgun mount, and 61 cm triple torpedo tubes on thigh straps.
The historic IJN Amagiri saw action in battle of Midway, Eastern Solomons, the Tokyo Express transport missions, and Kula Gulf before she was sunk off Borneo in 1944 during a transport run.
Her most famous historical incident (at least, well after the fact), was the sinking of PT-109, an American torpedo boat that happened to carry future-President of the United States John F. Kennedy. During another Tokyo Express mission to Vila, Amagiri went into an engagement with PT boats, and rammed the small torpedo boat. The captain of the Amagiri (Kouhei Hanami) would later go on to attend Kennedy's inauguration.
