The AK-15 assault rifle is the variant of AK-12 chambered in 7.62×39mm. Both the AK-12 and AK-15 have been developed by the Kalashnikov Group under the Ratnik program and have been accepted into Russian military service. This weapon was first publicly revealed in 2016. The only difference between the AK-12 and the AK-15 is their calibre.
The AK-15 weighs 3.5 kg when empty, a full-length of 940 mm, a 415 mm long barrel, and a standard 30-round magazine. Also compatible with earlier AKM, AK-103 and RPK magazines.
