A Russian 5.45×39mm assault rifle, designed in 2011 and manufactured by the Kalashnikov Concern. It is the fifth generation of Kalashnikov rifles. The AK-12 was intended to supplant the AK-74M in the Russian Armed Forces. The weapon features an adjustable folding stock, three-round burst mode, a standard pistol grip with finger grooves, Picatinny rails, and a diopter rear sight instead of open one.
The AK-19 is a variant chambered for 5.56×45mm NATO.
