The Nakajima A6M2-N, long designation "Type 2 Seaplane Fighter", was a single-seat World War II-era Japanese seaplane based on the Mitsubishi A6M Zero. Developed to support amphibious operations and defend remote bases in the South Pacific, the "Rufe" was used as a reconnaissance aircraft, fighter-bomber and interceptor. It was armed with 2 machine guns in the nose and 2 wing-mounted 20mm cannon. It could also carry 2 60kg (132 lb) bombs.
