Xenogears is a videogame developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Sony Playstation 1.
In this Japanese RPG, you can either fight on foot, or in large robots called gears. It is the predecessor of the Xenosaga franchise, and the creators had considered it would become the 5th game in a 6 part Xenosaga chronology. It was also spiritually succeeded by the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise.
It was released on February 11, 1998 in Japan and on October 21, 1998 in North America.
Xenogears never saw a PAL release. It is currently available for digital purchase only on the Japan PSN store, the English digital download version has not yet been offered in other regions.
