A fictional mecha from the Gundam series. It is the lead Gundam of Gundam Hathaway's Flash.
The RX-105 Xi Gundam and the RX-104FF Penelope were classified as fifth-generation MS and are said to have been developed and constructed by Anaheim Electronics. It was a unique MS with a built-in Minovsky Flight Unit and was equipped with the latest Beam Barrier system. Since the Penelope relied on optional units to obtain similar functions, it can be said that the Xi Gundam was a truly completed fifth-generation MS that could function independently.
Its armaments include a beam rifle, a pair of beam sabers (with a double-blade function similar to the Nu Gundam's large beam saber), a shield with a beam cannon on its tip, forearm-mounted triple missiles, and its signature Funnel Missiles. True to its name, these funnels functions like remote controlled missiles, guided by the pilot's Newtype abilities and exploding upon impact. These weapons are also equipped on the Penelope.
It is piloted by Mafti Nabiyu Erin, a.k.a. Hathaway Noa. Designed in real life by Moriki Yasuhiro for the novel; the design was later updated by Fujita Kazumi for the SD Gundam G-Generation series; this updated design has been used in most video games where the Xi Gundam is featured, such as Gundam Extreme Vs. and Super Robot Wars. Katoki Hajime also designed it for the FIX Figuration line as well as gave it a minor visual overhaul for the movie, featuring larger hands, a more off-white color scheme and a generally bulkier silhouette.
