A now-defunct American car company that was part of General Motors. Originally founded in 1926, it closed down in 2010 as a result of the 2008 financial crisis.
Pontiac was notably a commonly rebadged marque - several of their vehicles were sold outside of the United States under GMCs foreign brands, including Holden, Opel, Vauxhall, and Daewoo. Conversely, vehicles produced by the aforementioned companies would sometimes be rebadged as Pontiacs for the North American market, as well some rebadges of non-GM vehicles produced by companies like Toyota and Suzuki.
